Ask UP AstroSoc aims to provide answers to the questions of aspiring astronomers and those who want to learn more about astronomy.
Site Primer
UP Astronomical Society is a university-based organization in the University of the Philippines Diliman. One of its goals is to provide information to the public about astronomy. Due to the many questions that remain a mystery to most of the people, we have put up this website to answer the most daring of questions you have in mind about astronomy. In this blog site (which we hope could be a website in the future), we have included several corners that you'd find useful many ways.
AskUPAstrosoc Corner - This page allows you to post your questions about astronomy, be it from theoretical astronomy to practical astronomy. Do you want to learn why the Sun won't become a blackhole in the far future? Ask us! Just go to the 'Ask UP AstroSoc' page and answer the form so that we could answer it formally, through our article posts.
NightSky Monthly Corner - This page is dedicated to sky features for specific months. Of course, it's default contents will be the Philippine night sky. We will try our best to provide you with the best sky information that we could find.
Astro eBalita Corner - This page is the main news and update feed about the latest in astronomy, from findings, to technological advancements in the astronomical field and daily/weekly/monthly observable phenomenon in the Philippines and around the world.
*Backyard Astronomy Corner - This page aims to help you do your astronomy equipment DIY's and observation techniques that will be very useful in your daily sky quests (be it in the morning or in the evening). This page will also showcase the experiments that we have done within our organization. Stay tuned, this page will be interesting!
PaintMeAGalaxy Corner - This page is dedicated to astrophotographs taken by our members and our friends who are fellow enthusiasts. Prepare to be amazed by the beauty of our sky which we don't usually appreciate especially in cities. This page is another one to look out for!
*We're currently thinking of a better name. =)
